Building a cohesive executive leadership team in Haiti

Building a cohesive team of young professionals in Haiti who are ethical, willing to work collaboratively, eager to learn, and who are disciplined and consistent was equivalent to finding a needle in a hay stack, but was essential for our success in Haiti. Since 2017, Haitileve has made several failed attempts, until Dr Jeannot Michel, our co-founder and chair of the board of directors was able to use leadership metrics to select the local leaders with the highest scores. Among all the local leaders he interviewed in Haiti, Enel Ariste scored the highest in character, integrity, courage, team work, discipline, consistency, leadership skills, and willing to serve others more than himself. Dr Jeannot decided to move the headquarters of HAITILEVE from Port-Au-Prince to Hinche, Enel native town. This was the single best decision that we have taken as an organization.
